Privacy policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
This policy explains what AnswerWren collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers two kinds of people: customers (the businesses that use Wren) and callers (the people who phone those businesses).
What we collect
- Account data: your email address, business name, website, phone numbers, and the facts you teach Wren (services, prices, hours, policies).
- Call data: for every answered call, the caller's number, an audio recording, a transcript, an AI-written summary, and any details the caller gave (name, callback number, address, the problem, preferred times).
- Usage and billing: talk minutes, plan, and Stripe customer and subscription ids. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical: server logs with IP address and request paths, kept for 30 days, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
To answer calls, write summaries, send you notifications, bill you, prevent abuse, and improve the Service. Transcripts may be reviewed by our staff to fix a problem you report. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your calls to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
We run on a small set of providers, each under a data-processing agreement: Cloudflare (hosting, database, storage), Retell AI and Vapi (telephony and voice), OpenAI and Anthropic (language models that speak with callers and write summaries), Deepgram and ElevenLabs via those voice platforms (speech recognition and synthesis), Stripe (billing), Resend (email), and Twilio (text messages). Calls may be processed in the United States.
Callers
If you phoned a business that uses Wren, the business you called is responsible for the call and for what happens with your details; we process the recording and transcript on their behalf. Wren introduces itself as an AI assistant and, by default, says the call may be recorded. To access or delete your data, contact the business you called, or email us at privacy@answerwren.com and we will help.
Retention
Recordings are kept for 90 days. Transcripts, summaries and leads are kept while the account is open. Closed accounts are deleted within 30 days of the owner's request, and trial accounts without a plan are deleted 90 days after the trial ends. Billing records are kept as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can export leads from the dashboard at any time, and ask us to correct or delete your data by emailing privacy@answerwren.com. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and not be discriminated against; we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sign-in is by emailed link with no stored passwords. Access to production data is limited to staff who need it.
Changes and contact
We will email account owners about material changes. Questions: privacy@answerwren.com.
